Hyperlipidemia: There is a high correlation between smoking, drinking and increased LDL cholesterol with another heart issue. In patients with with previous heart disease, an elevated LDL is correlated with a greater than 20% chance of another heart problem. There is a significant risk of both drinking and smoking in the worsening of heart disease. You do all 3 and the risks are probably additive.
