Common but monitor: Usually if you skip periods you can have a heavy bleeding period as the lining of the uterus is shed. However because of the heavy bleeding and skipping periods your hormones are altered as well as the natural means of stopping the bleeding. See your doctor for either reassurance and making sure you are not anemic or getting birth control periods to stop the bleeding or even some cases a D and C
