Not likely: I am sorry that you have had this experience. Your feelings are understandable.Find a trusted doc or midwife and work together so that you can become more comfortable with exams. Share your reasons with the provider. C-sections have risks of major surgery and should not be done unless absolutely needed. Cervical exams are also important in that they help gauge when you are ready to deliver.

Elective C-section: Unfortunately, pregnant women sometimes need to have their cervix checked to rule out any infection or premature dilation. That would not be good care. As far as elective c-section, that can be far riskier than a vaginal delivery and would be up to your doctor.
