Benzoyl peroxide: Depending upon the severity of your acne, benzoyl peroxide is a good OTC choice. It can sting or burn initially when you start, so you may have to put it on every 2nd or 3rd day instead of every night (best time). Also be aware that it can make your skin sensitive to the sun--wear sunscreen if you are in the sun and can bleach anything it comes in contact with. It takes 6-8 weeks of continual use.
