What is the best medication and treatment for acne?

Best acne treatment: Isotretinoin has best results, but is not for everyone. Each person's acne is unique and treatment should be tailored to the individual. See a dermatologist to discuss the best and different options for you.

Multiple: So acne is a very common and complex issue. There are many many treatments and they are very individually tailored. So the best answer for you may not be the best for someone else. There are many medications that work really well but are very risky for pregnancy so require regular pregnancy tests and birth control. Others that are topical ointments. Again best is to visit with your doctor or derm.

Rx: Benzoyl peroxide over the counter is cheap and works pretty well; i add topical clindmycin next because it's cheap and usually works great. If there's a lot of blackheads, the more pricey retinoic acid derivatives can come 3rd; failing this, a systemic antibiotic or even a dermatologist's big guns. The oral contraceptive pill can end acne in a woman who can and wants to take it.

What's the best treatment for acne? Only capsules not creams?

Systemic Rx: Your question suggests to me that you have tried topical therapy and it failed. Most men clear on a systemic antibiotic that's right for them; the tough cases respond to drugs that only a dermatologist can write for. You may want to give topical rx a second try; clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, and a retinoic acid derivative may all help.
