HIV acquisition: My first question would be is where you acquired the blood under your nails? Overall I believe your overall chances for getting an HIV infection would be first predicated on where the blood came from and then do you have any wounds around your nail that would give this external blood a place of entry. In summary, I believe your risk is probably low but if you are concerned, then check with a MD

Was there another: person involved?? if your finger is intact and it's your own blood from somewhere else - absolutely not. if you have a wound and there's someone else's blood on top of it - still unlikely but *possible*. please clarify what actually transpired.
