Spotting: spotting in pregnancy is very common especially after sex or an examination in the office. However, no one can tell you for sure if you are having a miscarriage or not just based on spotting. I don't think spotting is an emergency, but its always a good idea to alert your OB provider so he/she can ask you more detailed questions and decide if anything needs to be done or if you can reassured.
