Yes: Clonazepam which is a benzodiazepene, can cause a withdrawal syndrome similar to alcohol withdrawal. You can also build a tolerance to it as you take it on a consistent long term basis. That is why physicians are moving to other medications such as SSRI's for long term maintenance treatment if anxiety and using benzodiazepines as short term agents.

Maybe: Medications such as clonazepam are known as benzodiazepines. This class of medication has the potential for abuse, dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms if misused. If used as prescribed, and with regular followup with the prescriber, the likelihood of these undesirable circumstances are minimized.

Clonazepam Tolerance: I appreciate your concern. Clonazepam is in the class of drugs called benzodiazepines, similar to valium, Ativan, Xanax (alprazolam), (alprazolam) etc. Tolerance is more of a risk at much higher doses and with those drugs that are short acting like Xanax (alprazolam). At the clonazepam dose you are taking, you should be fine as long as you follow your doctor's instructions and don't increase the dose on your own. Do not drink alcohol.
