Need More Info: Is the leg always swollen, and a lot? Is it completely paralyzed, and does he elevate the leg? Elevating will help reduce, as will exercise and ambulation, if able. What you describe is a leg so swollen, perhaps chronically, that water (called serous fluid) is actually seeping through the skin. NOT GOOD! Can easily lead to infection, amputation, or blood clot! Consider a compression stocking.
