I was reading an article on brain cancer when all of a sudden got cold/tingling sensation above ear near the temple. could this be related to my anxie?

Yes: It is very common when reading or hearing about a worrisome problem for the deep part of your brain, called the limbic system, to respond with anxiety. This can manifest as cold/tingling sensation. You can rest assured that this sensation is not likely due to a serious condition.
