GERD: Likely to be gastroesophageal reflux. Try starting OTC ompeprazole or similar. May add Zantac (ranitidine) or Pepcid on top of that. Try using Maalox or Mylanta to see if you get any relief, even for just a minute or so. It can be helpful to your doctor to know if it helps or not, once you see the doc. Avoid spicy foods, acidic foods, caffeinated beverages. Sleep with head of bed elevated.
