See answer: Sores or lesions on the female genitalia or in the vagina may occur for many reasons. Most common causes of "painful red sores within vagina" are an STD (e.g. herpes), vaginitis (yeast, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas), contact dermatitis (sensitivity to chemicals or irritants), or atopic dermatitis (often related to allergies). Recommend a pelvic exam and appropriate diagnostic cultures.
