Liver scar: The term fibrosis means scarring which is usually caused by repetitive inflammation. In the liver this can be caused by many things including infection with a hepatitis virus, excessive fat deposition in liver cells,other toxins. The problem with fibrosis is that it can crowd out the normal liver cells and cause your liver to not function properly (cirrhosis) You need workup for causes of this

Cirrhosis: Another term will be cirrhosis or replacement of normal tissue by scar tissue.
