Liver fibrosis: In general, liver fibrosis is not reversible. It is one step in the liver's response to injury, and progresses to become more widespread ("bridging") before the liver tries to regenerate, forming nodules, and at that time, cirrhosis is diagnosed. However, some insults if caught early may arrest or slow the progression of liver fibrosis. For instance, non alcoholic fatty liver disease can improve.
