Many possibilities: There are many possibilities that can cause a sensation of stomach burning. The most worrisome think I worry about is heart disease. Women have more vague symptoms than men. Please have this checked out immediately. Other, less concerning causes, are gastritis or GERD, gallbladder problems, esophagus problems. Blood tests and an EKG can start differentiating between these possibilities.

It depends: The answer is "it depends". If after spicy foods, coffee, orange juice, tomato products, or alcohol you may have acid problems/ulcer which can be briefly treated with zantac (ranitidine) 150 twice a day. If after milk products you may be lactose intolerant- use lactaid. If after sugar free products you may be having an issue with sorbitol/ artificial sweeten. See an MD. There are many possible causes.
