No: That's the short answer. However, is you haven't recently ovulated, the sperm stick around and fertilize the egg for up to about 5 days.

You can: Sperm seem to survive for about 3-5 days in the female's uterus or Fallopian tubes. So you could get pregnant that same day if the egg has already been released from the ovary and the sperm meets the egg in the tubes or uterus. Or up to 5 days later. Sometimes the egg isn't released until a few days after intercourse (and those sperm are there waiting patiently). :-)
