Did i fracture or jam my middle finger under knuckle? it is swollen and has pain! it is not bruised but on the side there is a bump that is red.

Maybe broken: See your doctor. This is not clear as to what you have done. You need to have an xray and see a doctor. If is broken especially at the joint needs special attention.
See a local orthopedist. If not go to ER.

Swelling and pain: can be a sign of trauma , bruising or fracture. Also, a puncture wound associated with infection. Striking or hitting something with fist can cut the skin over a knuckle and pierce the joint space, leading to an infection. Human teeth, are notorious for these severe knuckle infections after altercations. Red bump can mean a lot of things but red, swollen pain _ get evaluated
