No: No there is no relationship between expired IUD and your symptoms. Although you have to remove/replace your IUD but for your symptoms I recommend to see your doctor for some hormonal tests, specially thyroid function tests.

Possible.: The hormone-releasing IUD can be left in the body for 5 years before needing replacement. The copper IUD can be left in the body for 10 years. An IUD should be removed and/or replaced once it has expired. If you are talking about Myrena,the device itself is still an IUD--even with dwindling hormone doses. Maybe these lower levels of hormone circulating in your body are causing your symptoms .
