Alcohol & pregnancy: There is no way to tell for sure. 4 glassed of wine/day is excessive. It is not worth the risk of damage to the fetus. It is recommended to abstain from all alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Alcohol & pregnancy: No 100% known safe level of alcohol in pregnancy; alcohol can harm at any point. Ongoing or binge (eg. 4 at a time) use likely more harmful. Pregnant women w difficulty abstaining are encouraged to contact primary care provider/religious leader/local support group ASAP. Miscarriage (1 study: almost 1% if 5 drinks/week), low birth weight, fetal alcohol syndrome can occur.Stopping now = good idea.

Significant: The actual level of alcohol consumption required to damage a developing fetus is not known. At three weeks of pregnancy the developing fetus would be quite susceptible and sensitive to any chemical exposure - but if the fetus was to be damaged at that point in development it would likely completely disrupt the pregnancy and result in a miscarriage.
