A mass is...: an abnormal lump, a collection of fluid (cyst), cells , clot, pus pocket (abscess). Solud mass is a tumor. Tumors can be benign (not cancer), or malignant (cancer). That diagnosis with rare exception requires tissue sampling and examination (biopsy). Biopsy does not mean cancer; it means taking tissue for a closer look under microscope. Cancer diagnosis needs specific microscopic abnormalities
