If a stone is stuck at a spot > 2 weeks without further moving, the odd to pass becomes less & less over time. But, if stone-related hydronephrosis is mild, renal function is fine, you're relatively symptom-free & willing to cope, watching up to 1-3 m is ok; few stone of 4-5 mm may still pass
