Pigmentation: this may be due to ingestion of large amounts of colored vegetables ( hypercarotenemia) especially carrots and yellow squashes. I would still suggest blood tests for liver function and serum carotene levles.

Jaundice: Jaundice usually first appears under tongue (frenulum of tongue) but is seen most frequently on sclera (white of eye): we notice it more due to contrast from usual white sclera. Yellowing then migrates downward depending on severity. Have your MD check your mucous membranes to determine cause of facial yellowing.
