HPV vaccination: These vaccines are relatively new, so the 'final' answer isn't known. The 2 HPV vaccines -Gardasil & Cervarix are highly effective in preventing HPV for the types included in the vaccine. Data seems to show protection against persistent cervical HPV 16/18 infections for up to 8 years-the length of time research follow-up has been done. Still a good idea though to practice safe sex; 2 avoid disease
