A member asked:

My mom is diabetic and she has hyperhidrosis and there is a severe smell in her sweat is it some kind of disease and what should we do for that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Odor of diabetes: There may be an odor peculiar to diabetes , especially if poorly controlled. Regular washing and use of antiperspirants may reduce it. Baking soda (bicarbonate) can be used as a powder in the shoes, under arms between legs, etc. This can be effective.
