Why do some people have webbing between toes?

Genetics: Because as an embryo, we all have webbed toes until close to birth. However, sometimes genetics or intra-uterine (mother's womb) conditions may pre-dispose some to have webbing inter-digitally. It's not considered a major deformity, but a cosmetic nuisance.
