Psychiatrist: Have you seen a psychiatrist for diagnosis and medications? Certainly continue therapy but also consider hypnosis, biofeedback or cognitive behavioral therapy as well. Support groups (good one that is not just a gripe session) may be helpful.

Stay in therapy: You are special person and good that you want help. Hope you have supportive family. Please take prescription Antidepressant. Do you have pet? If not or cannot afford go volunteer at Humane society. Oxytocin secreted by being loved makes you happy and less depressed. Being helpful to others also helps. Exercise daily out doors. Do not stay alone. go to church. DO NOT HURT YOURSELF.

Get a friend: Psychotherapy probably would be the best way to help you out. Sometimes being able to talk your issues with a trusted friend, may help. Call for help and talk to somebody as thoughts are coming to you

Understand the root.: Therapy can be helpful only if the patient is challenged to be uncomfortable in digging for the root of the trauma that the cutting is soothing. Cutting is addressing the symptom of extreme anxiety or hurt in the moment; therapy cannot be focused on the symptom if we want to eliminate it. Make sure you are getting help from someone who will care for you and push you to free you of your burdens.
