A member asked:

Can a woman with genital herpes deliver her baby vaginally, if she doesn't have any symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes: delivery: A woman with vaginal herpes history and a negative culture at the time of delivery can deliver vaginally, without symptoms. The problem is that a postive culture takes time to grow, so a negative at some point near term does not prove that herpes is not active. See your obstetric professional to discuss this important decision well before delivery.
