Yes: Some spider bites, such as from the brown recluse spider or black widow spider, can cause a very intense reaction in the skin which can lead to significant scaring.

Yes, but . . . : Yes, but rarely. Most wounds attributed to spiders actually result from infections or minor trauma. If you did not see the spider bite you, consider other possibilities, especially with purple scar (? inflammation, bleeding) & persistent pain (up and down entire nerve?).If it healed long ago & your current symptoms are new, the cause is likely a new problem & you should have it checked out.
