Fatigue: Check for anemia,underactive thyroid,slow heart rate,low blood pressure,infection,sleep disturbance or even depression. Sometimes coronary artery disease or a weak heart muscle cause severe fatigue. Discuss these with your physician.

Fatigue and thyroid: This could be poor iron absorption. Decrease acid production due to age, OTC or prescription anti acids medications. Intrinsic factor and B 12 is also needed for proper absorption. Another cause could be low thyroid. If temperature is low when taken under the arm before you get out of bed this make indicate need for low dose Armour thyroid.

Exhaustion: Many causes! Are you depressed? Blood test shows no evidence of iron deficiency . Have Thyroid tests and get cardiac evaluation. Coronary artery in women present differently from Men who have more chest pains . I had 2 patients who ended up having bypass and their main complaint was fatigue. Take care.
