A member asked:

Anyone tried progestogen to stop your periods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The work sometimes. Depends on the reason for bleeding. For structural uterine problems, like fibroids, adenomyosis and polyps, success will be poor. For hormonal bleeding, results will be mixed, only some successful. Progestin use longterm does have some negative consequences and probably not the best choice. Implantable or Depo-Provera injections best for those unable to remember a pill every day.
