Daily aspirin : Your body is continually producing new platelets, the blood cells on which aspirin acts to prevent clotting. If you only take aspirin twice a week, you are leaving a gap of several days where the new platelets are not being exposed to aspirin, and are therefore acting normally. A daily dose of 81 mg is generally accepted as beneficial for reducing the risk of heart attack.
