How do i know when to take someone to the doctor if they have a wound infection an it's been a week it hasn't heeled yet?

Depends : Depends on where the wound is. Anything other than a superficial scrape should be checked if it is still open and possibly draining after one week

Any concerns: go see a doctor. in the mean time wash with soap and water apply antibiotic ointment and cover with some type of occlusive dressing. check your tetanus status.
