Possible abscess: If the bump was an infected abscess you popped, the nearby lymph glands in the inguinal fold can temporarily swell up, and be tender to touch. If you have a fever over 101 and feel sick, the germs may have spread to the blood, and you would need antibiotics to clear the infection. A physician can test for this, and treat the problem.
