Highly unlikely: Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) XR kicks in 30 min. after given & wears off in 10-12 hours daily. Residual effects are gone 24 hours after the last dose. Withdrawal may cause fatigue or return of ADHD symptoms. His seizure may be from the same underlying issue causing his ADHD & requires evaluation for genetic or other medical causes. MPH products have a slight chance of lowering seizure threshold, if given again.

Needs evaluation: Unlikely that Focalin-XR would result in withdrawal seizure, but seems that this new event occurred within days, and may be related. Recommend your doctor obtain series of tests to ascertain the true etiology, and certainly, have a neurologist look at this. My concern is risk of future seizures.
