Here are some ...: Holding ejaculation can be reached to a degree but at the end emission / ejaculation is a inevitable uninhibited process; semen itself would not cause epididymitis, but infected urine / STD-urethritis will make its way to epididymis to cause epididymitis. So, make sure of treating infection if any and don't worry about holding ejaculation.

No: Holding ejaculation does not cause epidydimitis. It can be caused by UTI,which is in your history(but you must see a doctor to find out why a 22 yr.old male has UTI) or by STD. In older men,which does not apply to you,it can be caused by enlarged prostate or by bacterial infection from the rectal area after some urological procedures. Groin and genital trauma are other causes.
