Limit reflux: Mrandy, To best take care of the esophagus, you need to limit acid refluxing from the stomach. First, avoid smoking and alcohol. Second, limit caffeine. None is best, 1-2 servings per day is ok. Third, if you have heartburn or acid reflux symptoms, visit your doctor and get on a H2 blocker (like pepcid) or a PPI (like prilosec), and your esophagus should last a lifetime. Hope this helps!
