Very common: One of the best ways to get rid of film on your tongue is to just clean your tongue. There are grooves, fissures and ridges on your tongue that trap food and bacteria. Ask your dentist for a tongue scraper and proper technique.

Normal: You should brush your tongue along with your teeth as the tongue traps foods and bacteria from plaque builups on teeth, and you'll see that film diappear .
