Valacyclovir SEs : May rarely include depression and other central nervous system manifestations. Alert your prescriber ASAP if you develop depression or experience worsening of depression on Valacyclovir. MD will need to evaluate with exam and possible labs to determine if other side effects are present as well, if treatment must be stopped, and establish a plan to treat depression (& any other SEs, if present).

Not typically: most typical side effects are headache, nausea, abdominal pain, liver enzyme elevation
