Comments: Not clear to me as to whether you have acute Guillain-Barre, or have evolved to chronic polyneuritis, termed CIDP. If the latter, IVIG infusions are the preferred therapy. Not clear why gabapentin is recommended, but you need to know that the usual maximum effective dosage is total 1800 mg daily. Not clear either if above answers your questions.
