Not sure?: Not sure what you mean by head of clavicle. The clavicle and 1st rib are right on top of each other near the breast bone or sternum. The medial sterno-clavicular joint can become swollen from injury or inflammation. Some people have an extra cervical rib above the clavicle which if large can cause some pain. The other end of the clavicle by the shoulder hurt, but is not rib related.
