Maybe not: As long as her blood counts are normal then there is probably nothing to worry about. As we age the skin gets thinner and regular activities can cause bruising that often looks pretty dramatic. The older folks - 80's and above, can also easily get skin tears from seemingly innocuous friction encounters.
