A sprain of the : Joint, tendonitis,sesamoiditis,mhallux limitus are all possibilities. An xray and clinical exam would confirm the diagnosis. Resting the joint would be helpful, if you can see a foot doc this would be ideal as you can get an immediate diagnosis with treatment plan.
