Cause worse: The increase in prevalence of cocaine use in the USA may be an important factor responsible for increasing asthma severity & mortality, despite advances in trxmt. modalities. Our study & others point to a relatively high prevalence of cocaine use among pts. with asthma exacerbation, possibly contributing to the increase in asthma morbidity. Short term txmt reported--but bad effects far worse.
