Echo in 1 year.: Long term survival is not particularly affected by mild tricuspid regurgitation, or leak. Repeat 2-D echo in one year would be a good follow-up. Moderate or severe leak would be a more different problem.

Echo/follow up: The effect and success of the surgery on overall heart function can be determined by further testing. Usually a cardiac echo, cardio pulmonary exercise testing can be used to view the structure and test the function of the heart during stress. A small leak in the valve should not typically cause problems and will be followed.
