A member asked:

What do you suggest if my physician doesn't want to put me on insulin unless it's the last resort, so if victoza (liraglutide) is working, could it be a permanent treatment?

Yes: Hi. Victoza (liraglutide) is an awesome drug for type 2 in my opinion. And it has the advantages compared to insulin that it causes weight loss (insulin causes weight gain) and in monotherapy (or used with metformin and/or an SGLT-2 inhibitor), can't cause hypoglycemia. Your doc chose well!
