What do you suggest if my mother drinks excessive amount of water?

Various reasons: It can be related to kidney problems, hormonal problems,diabetes, dry mouth ( auto-immune cause, medication side effect), etc. Some blood and urine tests may be needed, to help figure things out. See your doctor.
