A member asked:

What happens if a women is pregnant then gets diagnosed with cancer does the baby get cancer or grows to get it later in lfe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No cancer: If a woman delivers a healthy baby and has had cancer during the pregnancy, the baby will not develop cancer. The chance that there are circulating tumor cells during the pregnancy are slight and such cells do not have the capability of growing in a healthy newborn. In addition even if circulating cells were present they would not pass thru the placental circulation.
