Neuropathy: The three most common causes of neuropathy in the U.S. are diabetes mellitus, alcohol toxicity and vitamin B12 deficiency. These are treatable. It is important to know the cause so it may be addressed. There are times when the cause cannot be found, but it is wise to try to find it before simply treating the symptoms.
