YES: Any polyp found on colonoscopy should be removed and reviewed by pathologist. Remember the purpose of the colonoscopy is not to detect cancer but polyps that can potentially lead to colon cancer the 3rd most common cancer in the us.

You can only know: This after an endoscopy, and the polyp may already be cancer...Only a biopsy, and in this case a removal, will reveal the facts. Villous adenomas and carcinoids can live at this address, and they also can bleed.
