STOP USING: Despite all those ads showing a fried egg as a depiction of your "brain on drugs," most substances are short-lived and do not 'poison' the brain. What they do, however, is to dysregulate the normal receptor systems, so that when the drug is withdrawn, withdrawal symptoms occur. Yes: find a good 12 step group. stop using. exercise your mind - read, learn. if have depression or anxiety, get it treated. eat well. physical exercise. early in sobriety its common for people to feel like they lost a step or are in a fog. just as drugs & alcohol take a bit to exact their toll, reversing things takes a bit too. gotta be patient, work at getting better. take care of your brain & body.
